During this season we sing some familiar Christmas music, in keeping with the themes of the preaching each week, and we light the Advent candles. The height of the Advent season for us is our Christmas Eve service, during which we do the Nine Lessons in Carols, a mixture of Scripture readings, done by members of the congregation, which go through the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, and Christmas music sung in response to the readings.
